Moor Woman’s Spring

Opposite the Compás de Consolación (Consolation Compass) is the Fuente de la Mora (Moor Woman’s Spring) which takes its name from the local legend that tells how during the months of the siege of La Mota, a Christian Captain fell in love with a Moor woman who would visit the spring to collect water. It was the former site of the food market and the splendour of the surrounding buildings of the Calle Real (Real Street) can be seen, especially those still standing from the first third of the XX Century, reflecting the Llanillo architectural style.
